The game industry is prominent in the AI (Artificial Intelligence) field, which is spotlighted as a state-of-the-art future industry that will open up a new future.

Large game companies such as NCsoft, Nexon, Netmarble, Pearl Abyss, and Smilegate have established research institutes for AI research one after another and are continuing to invest aggressively, and are showing practical results by actually introducing related technologies into the game.

Although the meeting between AI, a state-of-the-art future industry, and a popular play culture, AI technology is being applied in various fields such as making monsters fight more real, efficient directions, and voice recognition, and love calls are continuing in other industries thanks to game companies’ advanced AI technology.

NCsoft is a representative game company that is active in AI technology development. NCsoft has established an AI center since 2011 and has been researching language processing technology, knowledge technology, computer vision, voice recognition and synthesis technology, and game AI with more than 200 top experts in Korea.

In particular, four papers were approved for publication by the International Society of Interspeech in 2021, and AI research results are widely shared with other domestic institutions by attending the Game Developer Forum (GDF) every year.
