LG Electronics is working with startups to discover technologies and ideas in future business fields such as healthcare and mobility.

LG Electronics announced on the 12th that the North American Innovation Center announced nine startups selected for the idea contest “Task for the Future” at the 2022 Fall Innovation Festival held at the Craneway Pavilion in San Francisco on the 7th to 8th (local time).


More than 1,300 global startups applied for the contest, which LG Electronics started in September last year. LG Electronics is going to invest up to $20 million (about 27.7 billion won) in the final selected startups.

The selected startups can interact with LG Electronics’ partners, including LG Electronics, and receive support, and can also utilize LG Electronics’ global infrastructure and supply chain.

XR Health, which was finally selected, is a U.S. healthcare startup that helps customers receive treatment comfortably at home using augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). LG Electronics, along with this company, is piloting virtual reality treatment rooms in nursing facilities in the United States.

Drives is a software platform company in the field of charging and energy management of electric vehicles. In cooperation with LG Electronics, it is planning an integrated operation of electric vehicle charging stations and smart battery storage devices in commercial buildings.

At the event, Tesla’s co-founder Mark Tapening and others gave keynote speeches to share their innovation experiences and know-how.
